Meet Scott
Scott Aitchison is the Member of Parliament for Parry Sound—Muskoka and Shadow Minister for Housing and Diversity and Inclusion.
After seeking office for the first time in 1994 at the age of 21, Aitchison served his hometown of Huntsville as a Town Councillor, Muskoka District Councillor and Deputy Mayor. In 2014, Aitchison was elected Mayor of Huntsville on a promise of fiscal discipline, responsible governance and excellent customer service for all who call Huntsville home.
His time as Mayor saw expanded services for residents, balanced budgets and projects that put Huntsville on the map as a dynamic and thriving municipality including the development of the De Novo Treatment Center, which provides addiction counselling and support to construction workers and their families.
In 2019, the residents of Parry Sound-Muskoka sent Aitchison to Ottawa on a promise to shake up the partisan gridlock in Parliament and stand up for the best interest of every Canadian regardless of political affiliation.
Scott Aitchison believes government should be a place where we come together and ensure nobody gets left behind. He believes in finding common sense solutions to problems and that politicians in Ottawa should spend more of their time getting results for people rather than bickering back and forth.
Scott is a proven fighter for fiscal discipline, responsible government and compassion and decency in politics. He believes that there is no challenge Canadians can’t face when we come together and work hard.
Put simply, Scott Aitchison believes that Canadians work hard, roll up their sleeves and build our future. And they should expect their politicians to serve with those same values of hard work, character, and courage in Parliament.
Scott knows it's time for Ottawa to get back to basics and fix the problems Canadians are facing.
